Every design engineer, whether architect, planner or engine builder, knows the real value of drawings which eventually end up unheeded in cupboards and thus very quickly get forgotten. Many assets - especially those dating back to pre-IT times - thus elude rapid access. The worst-case scenario is that they grow pale and even fade beyond recognition. Often the documents are not catalogued either, and the title blocks are the only reference to the source of the drawings. IMR specialises in digitising challenging originals of this kind. We can process your uncatalogued, large-scale documents, on transparencies or on paper, in black & white or in colour, and integrate them into your existing archives or workflow systems. Plans, drawings and microfilm aperture cards thus hold their value in the long term.

Our services begin where your documents are stored, such as the actual shelf system. We pick up all your documents, digitise and index them to your specifications and provide them in the required format at the correct interfaces for further processing in the document management system. We use high-performance Microbox scanners to give you the best character recognition quality currently available on the market. Even faded drawings on tracing paper can be reproduced perfectly as a digital document thanks to LCS transmitted light technology. Depending on requirements, we can straighten, cut and flip all formats and remove spots and stains. We scan the title blocks on drawings and the Hollerith codes on microfilm aperture cards (MFLK) digitally, therefore even here indexing is still an option. If required, we can provide the title blocks in a separate file so that you can conduct specific and rapid searches. The drawing is automatically called up if located. As in every other process, IMR operates on the principle of managing the archived data in the most efficient way with a view to saving the maximum amount of time.
